Mr. Coyne, chairman of the Strike Committoo, in addressing tho strikers, said the important statement ho had expected to make hnd been postponed till tomorrow. Tho conference between the employers and the waterside workers nt Maryborough proved abortive.
BRISBANE RECOVERY. Brisbano, March 5. A further attempt was made- to induco the carters to leave work, but tho men declined to do so. The whole of tjie tramway services have now been restored. Loyal workers have been .granted double pay from tho beginning of the strike to last Saturday.
WATERSIDE TROUBLE. NO LOADING FOR BRISBANE. (Rec. March 6, 0.15 a.m.) Sydney, March 5. Tho trouble regarding tho loading of tho wheat ships is unsettled. Acting under union instructions, the wharf labourers havo stopped all loading of cargo for Brisbane. A meeting of tho union is now being hold to consider the situation. Further developments are expected. Sydney, March 5. Tho Howard Smith Company intends dispatching the steamer Leuriv to Brisbano with a cargo. Other companies arc accepting a cargo, and no difficulty is »nticipated. Sydney, March 5. Tho Prinz Waldemnr, one of the German vessels which tho unionists refused? ' to work, discharged her cargo at Brisbane with her own crew. It was intended to dock her at Sydney, but painters and dockers notified that they would not touch her.
