WAIMANA ARRIVES.

Last evening the new Shaw. Savili steamer Waimana. arrived at Wellington from Liverpool, via, way port*, and anchored in the stream. The vessel left Gisbonie at 5.30 :'...m. on Sunday—not 11 p.m. on Saturday, :'s telegraphed. She berths at the King's Wharf this morning, anil proceeds to Lyttelton and Dunedin on Saturday.

MAMARI, FOR LONDON. Bound for Loudon, via l!Vi do Janeiro, the Shaw. Savill cargo steamer llamari left Auckland at 6.10 a.m. on Sunday.

SAN FItANCISCO STKAMKItS. Cable advice received from San Francisco announces the arrival oT the Aorangi at S ii.in. on Sutuiday, March 2. She leave; on the return passage for Wellington, via Fa-pccts and liarotonga to-morrow, and is due here on Starch 28, proceeding through to Sydney on the following day. The Tahiti left Sydney for Wellington direct at 6 p.m. on Saturday. She is espcoled to arrive here tile on Wednesday night, or early on Thursday morning. She has 35 saloon and 5 steerage passengers lor New. Xcalmul. For forward ports there are 50 fir-!, 39 second, and <!3 third-class passengers. About 21) or/30 passengers have booked passages from Wellington by the Tahiti. The Tahiti is scheduled to aonlrnue her journey to San Francisco, via way porte, at 5 p.m. on Friday. She is due at her destination on April 5.

At 11 n\-m. yesterday It.M.S. Tahiti reported by wireless that r-he was 700 miles out from Wellington. The vessel, which is inward bound from Sydney, is expected to arrive here early on Thursday morning.

Captain Hurt, of the steamer Huia, which arrived from Mutueka- late last night, reports sighting the Taviuni and Munaroa a.t anchor under Long Island. During Sunday a very heavy sonth-easj gale was raging in the Strait, and yesterday the conditions were not much better. The weather was also very thick at limes. Mr. P. 11. Cooke, who has been ashore on holiday leave, rt-joiiicd the Mokoia at Auckland this trip, relieving Mr. I. D. M'Larcn, who i.5 ashore for orders. Tiie steam trawler Nora Niven left Napier for Wellington lit 8.20 a.m. yesterday. The vessel is coming down for tho purpose of being placed on the Patent Slip for annual overhaul. Due in port from Napier to-day, the Tyser liner Star of Scotland completes Home loading at this port, and eails for London on Friday^ From Lyttclton the auxiliary scow Echo takes general cargo to Westport. On account of the continued bad weather at Castlepoint, the lliucmoa w.i:i unable to land all her cargo on Saturday. She conscwuently proceeded on to Napiei\ and was at that port yesterday. It is announced that the F.-H.-S. f.'!earner Evcrton Grange is to come across to New Zealand from Australia to load for AvonmoutU and other United Kingdom port*-. She is due about the middle of April, and will leave again about the end of May. It will be Thursday now before the Scales chartered steamer Clan Ogilvy arrives at Wellington. She is coming from liuubury, via southern poHs. Arriving at Wellington from Westport yesterday afternoon, the Union Company's steamer liauroto is expected to leave for the West Coast port, Auckland, and Suva this afternoon. The Komata jeaves here for Westport to-day, and the Wairun.'i for Napier. The Kiltawa is expected from Greyniouth on Wednesday, and the Ngatoro from the same port on Tliurc-day. The Pukaki leaves (Jreyinouth for Wellington on Thursday. Arahura, s.s., arrived at Greymouth from Wellington, via way polls at 10 a.m. yesterday, and was to have sailed on the return trip at 9 p.m. The Lyttclton Harbour Hoard's new dredge Canterbury arrived at Melbourne from Glasgow, via way port*, yesterday. An arrival at Wellington, last ovening was the Xew Zealand Shipping Co.'is steamer Kaipara. She completes Home loading at this port, and is scheduled to sail for London on Friday. With 25.0C0 boxes of butter on board the Coriuna is due in port from Onehunga and Xew Plymouth this morning. The whole of this cargo will be transhipped to the Kotorua. which leaves Wellington for London via way ports on Thursday, March 7. Instead of leaving Auckland on Monday, March 25, the Altai's departure from Auckland for Tonga. Samoa, Fiji, and Sydney has been.postponcd until the following day, March 26. The Monowai is advertised to leave Wellington for northern ports at 4 p.m. to-day. Mr. Fellows, assistant lighthouse-keeper at Manukau (North llcad.i, has been pro- I inotcd to be principal keeper at East Cape, I in ■ place of Mr. Ansin. who transfers to Kaipara.
