RIFLE CLUBS

MEMBERS' GENERAL MEETING. A general mcetinj; of rifle club members, presided over by President H. Marshall (Karori) was held in the diningroom on the range last evening. Galliehan and Deputy-President Newton (Wellington Suburbs Club); President Jim-ridge.ami Deputy-President M'Lachlan tl'otone Club), President Hobbs (Eastbourne Club); secretary, Kifleinan 11. 0. Browne (Karori Club). The executive, together with the following club representatives, will meet General Godley, and place before him matters affectiiiß their interests:—North Island: Presidents Welch (Opaki), Chapman (Tp Kanu), G. Lovedny (Ohura), Anderson (Auckland), Humphries (New Plymouth), and Deputy-President ,7. Kivcrs (Hastings). Smith Island: Presidents M.-vsc-lield (Sounds). Pobinson (YVainui), Cameron (Scargill), Miller (Blenheim), and Dcputy-Pre.-ident Duthie (Christchurch). It is not quite clear what day the meeting will take place, but it will probably be next Friday. A resolution was passed expressing appreciation of the work done by Colonel Collins in the interests of rifle clubs and sheeting generally, and special reference was made to the splendid services rendered by the range officers who annually come to help Colonel Collins through with the meeting. The catering arrangements were also favourably commented upon, the opinion being expressed that the culinary arrangements had never been so well looked after as at the present time under the quartermastership of Captain Mnbin.

To-day's Events, To-day's -programme includes Ihe Canlerbury Match, ten shots at COO vards. and the Ota go Hatch, ten shris at SOD yards, in the forenoon; in the afternoon, the Xcl.vou Hatch, a (cn-shol contest at SOU and 1)00 vnrds, will lie fired.
