OLYMPIC GAMES.

CHOSEN OF NEW ZEALAND. The Olympic Council yesterday selected G. X. Hill, of Auckland, and A. V. Wilding, of Christchurch, to represent New Zealand in the Australasain team at the Olympic Games at Stockholm in June of this year. Hill, who will run in the distance events, will probably leave New Zealand to join the Australian contingent at Svdnev in time to leave with them for London on April 10. Wilding, the tennis plnvor, is at present in England. The method of selection was to ask sports bodies to nominate likely athletes, the council making final choice. As soon as the nominations were received the council telegraphed to the nominees asking them whether, if selected, they could make the trip. Tho men nominated were Keddell (Southland), Opio (Canterbury), iWoodgcr (Wellington), Korr (Taranaki), Harding (Napier), Champion (Auckland), and Skeet (nominated by tho N.Z.A.A.A., but now in Edinburgh). Hill had previously promised to go, and Woodger also gave a' favourable reply, Keddell could not go, and Champion suggested impossible terms. No reply was received from Harding or Kerr, and Skeet, nominated as a sprinter, was not. considered as the council had no definite, information as to his performances. Opio asked for a little time before replying, but the council decided that no further delay was possible. Dormor, the Auckland middle distance runner, who was credited with liirin. 53 l-ssec. for half a mile tho other day, was not nominated. It is improbable that anv more men will be sent to the Olympiad unless there is a surplusage of funds —a rather remote possibility. Last night the N.Z.A.A.A. made a donation of ten guineas to the funds of tho Olympic Council.
