The sinking of artesian wells for water supply lias licen tried with great success in the North Auckland district. Mr. Joseph Evan?, ono of the oldest settlers of. the Far North, has had several artesian bores sunk round his properly at Wuipapakauri, and each attempt has been crowned with success. His deepest bore struck water at a depth of 14-Sfl., while his shallowest sinking obtained the desired result at Sift. Mr. AYnlter Evans experimented with success at Awnimi, shilling water at a little over ICOft.
