The? attendance at the hall during the day and in the evening was very gratifying. The festival commenced at i) a.m. yesterday with knee-drill, which as.the programme states is a good beginning. In the evening 11 mujical and song service was held. Adjutant and Jlr.s. Melk>ham were leading the <trvices all day, helped in the I'voniii},' by Adjutant and. Mrs. tiiinn. Everyone was pleased with the prospects for Hie coming week and a large gathering is expected at the ofliical opening to be performed to-day by Dr. A. IC. ivcwman, "SI.I*. Afterwards an atlractivc programme will be given by the visiting ofliwiV baud and 6ougstcrs senior aud junior.
