MOTOR CYCLE TRIALS.
The New Zealand Motor Cycle Club'i annual two-day trial took placo on Friday and Saturday. The course chosen for the first day was from tho Customhouse, Wellington, to Marton, via Masterton, Pahiatua, Palmerston, and Feililiug, and that for tho second day led from Marton, via tho Pukcpapa Eoad, to Bulls, thence, via Palmorston, Longburn, Foxton, and Levin, to' Wellington. Tho petrol consumption test was held from Waikanac into town, and included in this part of tho run was tho liill : climbing competition on the Paekakanki Hill. Thero wcro twenty-tlireo entries (four light-weights and nineteen heavyweights). Tho ridora were dispatched at intervals after G a.m. on Friday, and similarly from Marton on Saturday. Tho weather conditions were good until about 10 30 a.m. on Saturday morning, when rain was encountered, and this increased during the day, until before in Wellington the men were riding against a heavy, wet southerly under most unfavourable conditions. As the results have to be worked out on formula, they will'not bo available for a dav or two.
