LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.

LAND TAXES AND THE REFORM PARTY. Sir,—l noticed with great pleasure the remarks made by "Observer" as to the policy of tho Eeform party in this morning's issue of Tin! Dominion. In particular I notice tho suggestion that tho laud tax exemption should be increased. Now that Wardism, being on its last legs, is attempting to curry lavour with the country electors by increasing tho land tax exemption, I think it is a good point for the Reform party to urge that they have always opposed the spoliatory schemes of tho laml-taxers. The Government is now committed and cannot oppose this policy, should the Reform party itself now adopt it as being within the bounds of practical politics. We may take it, therefore, that the policy outlined in tho Governor's Speech is an open confession by tho Wardists, and an admission that tho land tax policy is an unjust burden placed upon the land by a party whoso original policy tho country is now heartily sick of.—l am, etc., PROGRESSIVE.
