BRISBANE TROUBLE. \ By Telecraph— Press ABeoclatlon-OopyriElit (Rec. March 3, 5.5 p.m. Brisbane, March 2. Tho waterside unions have held a meeting, and have decided to reinnin on strike. Tho Miners' Union is to tako a ballot < whether to sign the employers' agreement, which provides for resumption on the old conditions, excepting that tho men must give a fortnight's notice before leaving work. The Employers' Federation reports plenty of labour is offering through tho Free Labour Bureau to supply all requirements. A largo stone was discovered on the tram-line. It is believed to have been s. deliberate attempt to wreck the tram. BROKEN HILL HOTEL TARIFF. Sydney, March 2. Several Broken Hill hotol and boarding-house-keepers have attempted to rcduci their staffs owing to the increased wages which they now have to pay under the etriko settlement. BARRIER DISPUTE. Sydney, Marcn 2. The Barrier Labour Federation has ordered back all the old hands at Tatten, tho proprietors having conceded the demands. BRICK CARTERS GO OUT. (Rec. March 4, 0.40 a.m.) Sydney, March 3. The brick carters have struck for an increase of sixpence a thousand in the cartage rates. The advanced price of horse-feed and clearness of living is given as the cause. SHIPOWNERS CALL IN COURT'S AID. (Rec. March 4, 0.40 a.m.) Sydney, March 3. The Commonwealth steamship owners have represented to the Arbitration Court that a dispute has occurred in Queensland and Sydney in connection with the inter-State shipping, and is in grave danger of spreading to other parts of the Commonwealth. The Court has summoned a conference jf Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne iteamship owners and waterside workers for Friday to consider the situation.
