VICTORIA COLLEGE.

ANNUAL MEETING OF GRADUATES' ASSOCIATION. The seventh annual meeting of the Victoria College Graduates' Association was hold on Thursday evening, Mr. JI. H. Ostler in in tho chair. Tho annual ;eport staled that during the past year the membership of the association has increased from 102 to 121). During tho year tho only vacancy to be fillod by graduates was that on tho College Council, arising from the retirement of Mr. U. 11. Ostler by effluxion of time. Mr. Ostler was re-elected unopposed. In May next Sir. Louis Cohen, the representative on (ho Senato of the graduates of the Victoria Universilv district, will retire by rotation. At its 'last meeting your committee decided to nominnto Profossjr T. A. Hunter for (he vacancy. Tho seat of Mr. J. G. \V. Aitken, who is ono of tho graduates' representatives on the Colhigo Council, becomes vacant next May by effluxion of time. This year's accounts show a deficit of 7s. lid. This is accounted for by the fact that the comparatively largo sum of .£'3 2s. sd. was spent in postages, the greater part of which was in connection with the Senato election circular. University reform is ono of the matters in which tho Graduates' Association, if it is to fulfil its functions, ought to take an activo part. Tho need for reform is so clear that the commitleo has no hesitation in urging upon the members of tho association that they should lend every possible assistance to tho cause. Ono of the most direct and practical ways of helping the movement is to see that as far as possible tho graduates of the district are represented on the University Semite and the Victoria. Collego Council by advocates of reform. On the motion of the chairman the report was adopted. Tho election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. H. H. Ostler, LL.B., secretary, Miss M. E. Hales, 8.A.; com mittee, Miss T. Watson, M.A., Messrs. A. Fair, LL.B., F. A. de la Mare, 8.A., and D. S. Smith, LL.B. The following resolution was 'That in the opinion of this association tho completion of the college buildingn by* tho' addition of the wings to provide an assembly hall and increased accommodation for the library is, by reason of tho development of the college, needed, and that tiio incoming committee bo directed to approach the College .Council and Students' Association with a view to cooperating in urging the claims of the collego to a Parliamentary vote."
