WELLINGTON SHAKE MAIIKET. Waihis havo dropped to 415., their recent firmness being due, it is supposed, to thoso who had oversold covering their commituicnts. Orercclliug is etill going on when opportunity occurs, but it is only a matter of a little whilo when this hind of business . will cense. It has been carried to excess with disastrous results, and now llicro is practically no business to be done. The transactions recorded yesterday were Waihi at 41s. 3d., and Waitangi at Is. 7Jd. and Is. 8!d. at tho second call. At the morning call a sale of Taranaki P:trolcum at 13s. was recorded. DREDGING. Dunedln, March 1. Dredging returns: Mastcrton, 240z. lOdwt.; Koputal, 240z. Bdwt. MOUNT LYELL RETURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association -Cnpyrljal Melbourne, March 1. Mount Lycll mine returns from January 25 to Fsbruary 21 show that 17,405 tons of ore was treated, producing 429 tons of blister copper, containing 423 tons of copper, 31,0540z. of silver, and 5020z. of gold.
