The Steel Trust Inquiry Committee has published the results of tho investigation of accounts conducted at the instance of the committee. ' Tho figures show that ,T. P. Morgan and Company received seventy million dollars cash (iiU.OOO.OOO) for organising tho steel combine. The net profit for tho first Bine years reached a billion dollars.
The statement made in 1907 to Mr. Roosovelt, to the effect that tho Steel Trust only controlled 118 per cent, of tho Rtoel properties in tho United States, was untrue; the trust actually controlled 80 per cent, of the proporties.
