The nest and last wool sale of the season will be held on Tuesday nsxt, but as yet the probable quantity to be offered is not known. In some of the stores the wool held over from last sab is still in store, and it is not known whether it will be reoflered in Wellington or shipped to London. The probability is that a large proportion will lie offered locally, but in that event the owners must modify their views of values. Not much importance can be attached to the sale, because the wool to be offered Is mostly log-stained and seedy.

Customs duties collected at the port of Wellington yesterday amounted to £4235 17s. 2d.

GRAIN MARKET. (B» ToUzranu.—Press Aseoota.tlon.l Dunedln. February 28. Oats.—There is good inquiry for new season's oats, but as yet only a few samples have conr.3 to hand. Stocks of old oats are practically exhausted. Prime milling, to 2s. 4d.; good to best feed, 2s. 2d. to 2s. 3d.; inferior to medium, Is. 10d. to 2s. Id.

Wheat—There am no new samples offering and stocks of old are pretty well sold out. Inquiry for the latter is not keen. Fowl wheat is in cood demand. Prime milling vclvat, 3s. 10d. to 3s. lid.: Tuscan, 3s. lOd. to 3s. lOJrt.; best fowl wheat. 3s. 9d. to 3s. 10d.; medium, 3s. sd. to 3s. Bd.

Timaru, February 28. Inquiries made here indicate a probabls ehortage of grain sacks this season, and a consequent increase in the price. A local importer has correspondence from Calcutta which tells or a short jute crop, short manufacture, and a rise in prices there.

A line of wheat sold to-day at 3s. sd. at Timaru. Good weather for the harvest has prevailed for the past few days, and work is beini; rapidly pushed on.
