ENTERTAINMENTS.
"ALLEN DOONE" SEASON. "A Romance in Ireland" was played for tho last timo last evening , at the Opera House l>efore a large audience. The last two nights of the season will be inaugurated this evening, when tho pretty mnsical comedy drama, "Molly Bawn," will be produced. Tho action of the play is in England, at the country seat of. the rich old Earl, Lord Amherst, grandfather of Molly Bawn. Running through the piece is the love story of Ted Luttrell and Molly Bawn. In order to select an heir, the old Earl invites all his grandchildren to visit him at Hurst Royal, announcing that to the one who is fondest of him he.will leave his fortune In due course Molly Bawn arrives, and is made nn object of suspicion and dislike by tho other grandchildren. Phillip Shadwell, one of the grandchildren, in order to ascertain who is the real heir, steals tho will and endeavours to throw.the blame on Molly Bawn's lover,. Ted Luttrell. The death of Lord Amherst is caused through the endeavour of another of his grandchildren, Jlarcia Amherst, to prevent him from, altering the will in favour of Jtolly Bawn. Suspicion is cast upon Jtolly, but Jtarcia, who eventually confesses to her guilt, proves that she'is not wholly bad. and the play has a happy ending. The box plan is open at the Dresden.
THEATRE ROYAL. The Theatre Royal was well patronised, lost evening when an excellent programme of kineinacolor and black and white subjects was screened. The. kinemacolor subjects arc excellent, perhaps the best being entitled "The. Glories of tho Upper Thames." "In Yorkshire Town" is the title of a capital black and white dramatic picture. Other good pictures are: — '"Iho A'ew Superintendent," "Mystic Manifestations," and "Lake Como, Italy." The programme will bo repeated this evening.
FULLERS' PICTURES. The very attractive programme of pictures which is being put on at Messrs. Fullers' Skating Kink in Vivian Street drew another good-sized "house" last night. The Knlem' drama entitled "The Long Arm of the Law" is a particularly iinc item, telling (ho tale of tlio chase after n Mexican outlaw. The hunt with tho llxmoor hounds is another good number.
THE KING'S THEATRE. The really fino programme at the King's Theatre is attracting big "houses'." "A Florentine Drama" was among tho popular pictures shown last night. It i v s a fascinating story, splendidly mounted. Another lino picture is "The Cattle Rustler's Father,
THE NEW THEATRE. . Judging by tho throngs of patrons at yesterday's afternoon and evening sessions of the New Theatre, Manners Street, the current programme of the continuous picture entertainment is in keeping with the popular taste. To-day and to-night an up-to-date "feature" picture, "London of To-day," will he presented. Tlio great metropolis of the Umpire possesses perennial interest, and tlio wonders of tho city aro attractively displayed in this production. Such sights as the busy Strand, Fle«t Street, Stock Exchange Corner, Holborn, Piccadilly, Regent Street, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, the Embankment, etc., are sources of entertainment for all. "Well-known architectural landmarks are represented by Parliament House, 'Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Bank of England, Nelson's Column, the Albert Memorial Hall, and statuary. The hundred and one things which make London interesting aro arrayed in the picture with rare skill. Tho other items will all Iμ of a pleasing character.
BLASCHECK.. Mr. Blascheek's season of Society Snapshots is to open at the Opera House on Saturday next, March 2. In the course of n criticism on Mr. Joseph Blascheek and Miss Mildred Wrighton's entertainment, the "Sydney Morning Herald" said: "These clever entertainers havo a versatility that is wonderful. Their 'Society Snapshots' are bright and .sparkling, their monologues exceedingly witty, their character sketches surprisingly 'clever. Either artist might provide a line entertainment singly, but no one would wish to separate them." Tho box plan is at the Dresden.
