Sir Ernest Shnckleton, of Antarctic fame, in an interview, declared that Captain Scott, of tho British Antarctic expedition, should leave Macniurdo Sound on February 10, and reach .Stewart Island threo weeks later. Captain Amundsen, having helping winds, should, however, reach Hobart earlier. Lieutenant Filclnier's German expedition would probably bo frozen in tho Weddel Sea, but if not imprisoned should arrive at Punta Arenas, in the Straits of Magellan, or Buenos Ayres, in April.
