: * SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present.indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather with rain probable, especially over the North Island. Jloderato to strong easterly and northerly winds are probabk generally. The barometer is due to fall in the north, but is unsteady in th 6 south. Barometric pressure lins decreased everywhere, with warm and cloudy weather generally, and rain has fallen in ths northern districts. Moderate to strong easterly winds have prevailed. D. 0. BATES. Feilding, February 28—Fine hot muggy day; rain at night. Palmerston. February 28—Weather dull, but fine, oil day; rain falling to-night. Otaki, February 28.-Fine. Feathcrston, February 28.—Steady rain; atmosphere warm. Hastings, February 28.—The wcathjr today has been warm and showery.
