Members of the Palmerston Bowlinpr Club propose paying a visit to Wellington shortly to play matches with Ilia city clubs. A little girl, named Gwen Foster, Imd her leg broken on Saturday while playing in a stonemason's yard, through a tombstone falling on her. The J'olmngina Branch of the Farmers' Union held its annual picnic on Saturday. There was a good attendance, though' perhaps not quite so numerous as at previous picnics of the branch. A hearty welcome was extended to the visitors by the chairman (Mr. H. W. Smith). Mr. 1). Howie, vice-chairman, also addressed tho gathering.
