"That before making any appoint ment as traffic, manager, tho council should again consider tlio advisability of obtaining a report on the tramway management from ft well recognised expert."—Councillor M'lvenzie. A general discussion, in committee, tooM place at the meeting cf tho council last week, and it was decided then to devote! a special evening to tlio .settlement of tlio general question of tramway management. That settlement was arrived at Lost evening, after a sitting, in committee, which lasted for slightly over two hours, when it was decided:— 1. That 110 further action be taken with, regard to the anpointment of a traffic) manager, nor any appointment umdo from the present applicants. ■ : 2. That, a Hoard of Management lx» appointed to nianago the tramways, the boaird to consist of three members:— 1 lid eilv engineer (Mr. W. H.
