SWIMMING.

VICTORIA COLLEGE SPORTS. The Victoria College Amateur Swimming Club hold their second animal carnival in the Bell Memorial Baths at "Wellington College on Saturday afternoon. Tho fine bright weather, the good work Df the officials, and the promptness of tho swimmers, all contributed to the success of the gathering. The morning sun hnd mud© the water warm, though swimmers found it rather different to the salt water, to which they were accustomed. Some good racing 'was witnessed in the various events. Tho 100 yards invitation scratch race, in which Brice, Ronayne, and Si'.ymour competed, produced an 'exciting liiiish, Brico beating Ronaync over the last 20 yards by u touch. All got well away, Brico and Ronayne taking the lead. iU the 25 yards turn, Brice led'by a foot, ivith Seymour a yard behind. The Iwo leaders gradually forged ahead, going evenly all the way. At the 75 yards mark, Brice and Kona.Mic were level, but 20 yards from home, Ronayne led by G inches. Brice, however, spurted, nnd managed to win as slated above, with Seymour 5 yards behind. Much interest was evinced in Iho teams relay race, which produced a close contest, Wangnnui Col.'ejo representatives just boating Wellington College, on the finish.
