Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. (Danncvirke branch), report of their pales held last week:—Monday: Fortnightly sale at Woodville. We had a good entry of eattlo, hut only a few pens of sheep wore yarded. There was a large attendance of buyers, and most lines changed hands. Fat ewes sold'at 11s. 6d.; store ones. 6s. 9d.; small shorn lambs, 65.; dairv cows. £4 15?. to £5 93.; fat and forward cows, £3 to £4; 15 to 18-month heifurs, £3 to £3 is.; weaners, 245. to 21s. 6d.; bulls, £3 25.- , 6d. to £3 55.; hack pony, £6 10s. Monday: Clcir:ing sale at Norsewood, on account of Mr. A. Svcnson. A herd of ',',l cows, besides other stock, sundries, etc., was submitted to a large attendance of buyers. The cows were in good order, and bidding was particularly spirited, prices being a record for the time of the year. The.cc ranged from £4 ss. to £13 2s. 6d., and made an average of £7 11s.; two-year Jersey heifers. £6 to £8; 15 weanors, £4 ss. (a record); others, 15s. to 305.; bulls, 25 to 5 guineas; harness made, £16; pony, £6; sows and.litters, £6 12s. 6(1.; porkers, 365. Wednesday; Clearing sale at Xorsowood, on account of Mr. 3. D. Gollan. A large number of buyers attended tin's sale, a! which we offered the whole of Mr. Dylan's furniture and sundries, in addition to 1600 sheep and 20 head rntt!e. Tho sheep were in excellent condition, and realised satisfactory prices, in spite of the fact that the continuation of the strike made buyers somewhat chary of bidding. Two-tooth and four-tooth wethers realised 12s. Id.: two-tooth ewes from 12s. sd. to 12s. Bd.; four and six-tooth ewe 3, up to 13s. Bd.; four-year-old ewei-', IC=. lid.; lambs, 95.; f.m. Homucy rams, up to" 13 guineas.
