At; the conrlusion of the. meeting of the Iwal Labour parly to-night, a meeting of the executive of Mr. AV. A. Yeilch's Election Committee wns convend to receive a, deputation from Mr. Wilford's Jlutl Committee. Mr. M'Donald nclod as spokesman, and explained that (lie deputation was authorised to ask Mr. Yoilch's Committee to request him to pair with Mr. Wilford in the division on the no-conn-deneo motion now liefore Hie Ilouse. After discussion, it was unanimously decided thnt Die request be not acceded to, and that Mr. Ycitch be written to informing him of the decision, and staling that his committee lias full confidence in his determination, to adhere to his election pledges. Seen afterwards, members of Mr. Witch's committee expressed indignation, at what they described as on impudent attempt to got at Mr Ycitch through (ho medium of his committee, Mr. M'Donald, in the course of his appeal, referred to Mr. 'Wilford's illness, and said it was thought thnt as the Government had brought forward 601110 good popular proposals, and as the Liberal, party was about to be. reconstructed it would be to the advantage of tjio people of Wnngnnui if Mr. Ycitch paired as desired. Mr. M'Donald went on to refer to the desirability of keeping Mr. Mnssey out, but Mr. J. T. Muir (chairman of Mr. Yeilch's committee) requested him not to introduce contentious matter. Mr.-M'Donald strongly emphasised Mr. Wilford's friendliness towards tho Labour parly, and said ho was snro Mr. 'Wilford's electorate would return the favour when an opportunity presented itself. A meeting of the Stratford branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants resolved:—"That, considering tho attitudo of tho Reform party against Labour, this meeting requests Mr. Veilcli to support (ho Liberal Government 111 the ne-coiilidenco motion before tho House. Uv so doing the meeting considers ho will be studying the bast interests of the railway servants." It was also resolved to recommend other branches to tnko similar action.
