Mossrs. TJalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their ram fair held at Levin, under the auspices of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association, as follows—We j-arded some 257 arms, and sold 200 of them. Two-tooth Itomneys, on account of Mr. D. Gardner, 2 to 3 guineas; on account of Jlr. P. llun-fravin.-to 35 guineas; on account of Mr. 11. O. Allen, to 1 guinea; 4-tooth I'.omneys. on account of Mr. 31. K. Allen, IJ to 2 guineas; 6-tooth to f.f.ni. Itomneys, J, 3. to 1 guinea: f.m. Homneys, to 1 guinea,; 2-tooth English Leicesters, on account of Mr. F. S. M'fiae, to 2 guineas; 6-tooth Shropshires, 1 to lj I guineas; f.m. Shropdiircs, to 3 guinea. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency- Co., report:-At our Pahautanni sale on Tuesday last we yarded about 2CCO sheep and a few pens of cattle, to a full attendance of biiyciis, who were present from Levin, Otaki, and surrounding districts.. Ad was expected, owing to the industrial unrest, sheep were dull of sale, hut, under the hammer and privately aftenvards, we disposed of a fair proportion pf our entry a,t satisfactory price*. Fail-ing-mouthed ewes, in low condition, were exceedingly hard to place, and our passedin lots were of this class. There were buyers in the yard for wclhers of fuir I'ondi'tion, and these changed hands at Irom 11s. 3d. to 12«. 6d. Two-tooth store wethers. 11s. ii,, 11s. 6d., 125.; 4-1 ooth wethers, 12s. id., 12s. 6d.; full and failing-mouth ewes, from 7s. 6d. to 9s. 3d.; failing-mouth ewes, in low condition, 65. to 6s. 9d.; woolly lambs (culls), to ss. 6d.; cull lambs (shorn), to 2s. 7d.; full-mouthed Itoinney rams, 30s. to 375.; older sorts. 12s. to 183. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd report on their Pahautanui sale as follows—A large entry of sheep came forward, over 2500 hems penned. Bidding was not at all spirited, there being no buyers for need ewes, of which there were a good number forward. However, we managed to quit a fair proportion of tho yarding. We sold, on account of Jtesars. Abbott Uros., a. line of 6CO full-month ewes at 95., and a splendid line of 4-tooth wethers at 11b Other lots sold as follow:—2-tooth wethers. 10s.; f.m. ewes, 95.; used ewes, ss. to 7fi.; cull lambs, 4s. 6d.; forward ewes, lla. Id. The Ilawke's Day Stock Agents' Association report;-At the weekly sale nt the Waipuluirau salcyards on Tuesday lasl a large yarding of sheep and cattle was offered to a. good attendance. Veal calves made 4s. 6d. to 595., according to Lize and quality. A fair yarding of store ca'lle met with ti keen demand, yearlings making 355. to 405.; 15 to 18-inomhs, £3 to £A 2s. 6d.; 2year stores. £5 17s. 6d.; 2-ycar heifers. £4 Bs. to £4 155.; 3-year stores passed at £6 9s. 6d.: 3-year heifers. £4 18s. Bd. to £5 2s. 6d.; and dry cows, 345. to £3 ICs. Dairy cows made £4 ICs. to £11 ICs. There was a medium entry r.f piss, which met with good competition, and stores olro sold well. Choppers made 60s. to EOs.; extra, to £5 155.: large baeoners, 765. to 605.; extra, to 945. 6d.; and lighter sorts, 05s. to 68s. fcqua.l to 6Jd. to GUI. per lh.); larjru porkers, 48s. to 525.; and lighter. 38s. to 455. BURNSIDE MARKET. ffly Telccraßh.-Press Ansoflatlnn.l Dunedln, February 21. At Burnside to-day 200 fat cattle were yarfcd, including: some good qualitv bullocks. The yarding was bevond local reduiremciits, and prices declined bv 15s. to £1 per head on last week's rates. Best bullocks, £10 to £11 55.; extra, £1J 2s. 6d.; medium, £8 10s. to £9: best cows and lietfsrs, £8 to £9; medium, £5 10s. to £6 2454 being penned. The sale was very dull! and prices dropped Is. to Is. 6d. per head on last week's prices. Best wethers, 17s. 6d. to IBs.; medium. 15s. to 165.; Us. 6d. to 15s. 6d. One pen extra good. 205.; medium, 12s. 6d. to ,13s. sd. Fat lambs: There was o. medium yardinc. 1261 being penned. Freezing buyers were operating, and prints rose from 9d. to Is. per head. Good, 14s. to 155.; extra, to 16s. 3d.; inferior, 11s. to 12s. 6d.
