Providing conditions are favourable, however, the rcatta should be a very successful one, as the entries are good in all events except the Senior Fours, in which only tw.o crows are engaged, and three in tho .Senior Clinker race. Owing to the death of his brother, "Teddy" Rylniid will not row in the Union senior crew, but the teat will be filled by ft substitute. The Wellington and Clifton crews arrived tcday. The. death occurred yesterday of Mr. William Nathan, aged 11 years. Deceased was a member of tjic old Waiißanui Navnls, and also of '.ho fire brigade. Ho went to South Africa with the Sixth Contingent, mid contracted n severe cold there, which developed into pleurisy, and, sinco his return, be had never enjoyed good health. He was very popular here, and also in Wcstport, where he lived for some years.
