Mr. Birrell, Chief Secretary for Ireland, in reply to, a question in the House of Commons, admitted the existence of Nationalist Boy Scouts pledgod to work for Ireland' 3 independence and never to join the English armed force?. Asked whether he intended tD suppress such \ disloyal association Mr. Birrell replied that ho did not think he would begin with boys. In reply to a question from Colonel Seely, Liberal member for Ilkest'on, Mr. Birrell stated that the troops used in connection with Mr. Ghurchill'e recent Belfast speech cost .C 2700.
