MR. COYNE STILL DETERMINED
CONFIDENT OF VICTORY

Mr. Coyne, President of the Striko Committee, addressing fifteen hundred men, declared that the strike would continue until the employers had reached a better frame of mind. He declares that the struggle must result in a victory for labour. A meeting of Rosewood colliers decided to return to work. A meeting at Bundamba decided to approach the Government with a view to getting the local Arbitration Court to deal with the matter of the re-employ-ment of tho Brisbane strikers. (Kec. February 21, 9.15 p.m.) Brisbane, February 21. Mr. Coyne, addressing the strikers, said that unless the Employers' Federation was more stupid than was thought the end of the Brisbane strike was not far distant. Tho employers were losing thou. sands, but the strikers were losing , nothing. They wero not hungry yet, and were not likely to be for some time.
THE SHIPPING TROUBLE. POSITION AT SYDNEY. (Reo. February 22, 0.35 a.m.) Sydney, February 21. The steamer Arawatta, from Queensland is still held up, by tho wharf labourers refusing to handle Brisbane cargo loaded by non-unionists. The wharf labourers have refused to handle the steamer Mallina's cargo. The permanent hands are handling the cargo. The trouble on the steamer Cornwall has been settled and coaling is proceeding.
TWO CAPTAINS. SHIP'S CREW AND THE STRIKE. (Rec. February 21, 9.45 p.m.) Brisbane, February 21. At the Police Court to-day tho owners of tho steamer Tinana proceeded against the boatswain of the vessel for refusing duty. The case is a test one, the whole of the crew having struck. The magistrate snid the crew appeared to have two captains, one on land and one at 6ea. They took the law into their own hands and refused to obey the sea captain. Counsel for the complainants said the men had been ill-advised and were the victims of people ashore. The company did not desire that the men should be imprisoned. A fine of JC2 with costs, or in the alternative, seven days' imprisonment, was imposed. The other cases were adjourned until Friday.
