THE WOODVILLE MEETING
There are three two-year-olds engaged in the Maiden Plato at Wootlville. They are Air. Highdon's Lockwood (Haweratrained), Alasler Kilcheran (KilckoraiiPenelope), and Haskaync (Birkenhead— Outer). The first-named has not sported silk yet, but the others have some form to recommend them. The two-year-olds have a big pull in tho weights.'' Waiputere is in a class by herself in the Hurdles. She won on the local cour.se in December with 31b. less than she has to-day.
Air. E. J. AVatt has no. horses racing at AVoodville. His trainer (Tom Quinlivan) brought Grandee (fall-brother to A"i) through from Hastings for the Alaiden. _C. Emmcrson will bo riding at Dunedin. AV. Price will ride members of \V. Davies's team engaged at the meeting. The AVhariti Hack field includes Loch Maben (who has won the last three races ho started in), and Clemoes (a win at Taranaki). Sir Knox is favourite for tho Cup. Idealism and Aleremero are two lightweights engaged who have recently shown form. The old-time trainer, Stewart Waddell, has four of the Hon. J. D. Orniotid's horses engaged at the meeting. L. Wilson will ride Altcar and Idealism, and Watson Haskayne and Alissile. The latter is n four-year-old full-brother to Haskayne, and is engaged in the County Hack. Both Haskayne and Alissilo are No. 10 ou the card. Golden Loop and Master Sylvia wore brought through from New ' Plymouth. On Taranaki form they should have to improvo at least a stone to have a winning chance here. A. Oliver will have the mount on Blue Lake, who is expected to start favourite ill the Telephone Handicap. Vi and Olaraia have been scratched for all engagements. Beu Deeley has a mount in everv flat race. His mounts are: Sir Knox, Sir Solo, Longstep, Lady Nolan, Good Form, Ladv Moutoa, and Overheard.
