DIVORCE CAUSES.

(Before Mr. Justice Chapman.)

A sitting of the Divorce Court was held yesterday, Mr. Justice Chapman presiding. A decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months, was granted the petitioner, Joseph Edwin Ffrost, a commercial traveller, in his suit for divorce from Emilie I'frost, on the ground of misconduct with Maurice Fitzmauricc. The. parties were married in October, 1899, at Timaru. A written admission by the respondent was submitted, and, referring to this, his Honour pointed out that a testament of this kind should invariably be received with caution, as such admissions might conceivably be made under improper siig-. gestion. He wns satisfied, however, that the letter in questiou was a genuine admission, and that there had . bceu no collusion. Costs on the lowest scale wero allowed against the co-respondent. Mr. P. Levi appeared for the petitioner. On the petition of Minnie M'Maugh for a decree of divorco from her hnsband, Lancelot Meredith Theodore M'Maugh; a clerk in the Railway Department, on tho ground of misconduct (admitted), his Honour granted a decree nisi, with costs on the lowest scale against the respondent. Mr. W. J. Organ appeared for the petitioner.
