RAPE AND MAIZE.
SUCCESSFUL SHEEP FODDER,
Mr. AY. Cameron, of Te Ore Ore, Mas. (ertuu, this season sowed a crop of dwarf maize recommended by .Mr. A. H. Wood as fodder for sheep, and which had been specially treated. The crop has been a decided success, and has carried Go lambs to the acre during the past three weeks, and there is still a good crop left. At the Holmes Estate, Mafahiwi, maize and thuusand-headed kale have been grown together for fodder, and the crop is an excellent one, being between 2ft. (iin anil 3ft. high. It will shortly be readv for feeding purposes. M.r. \\~. Perry, of' Penrose, is also growing rape and maize together for sheep fodder. A local authority informed a Wairarapa "Daily Times" reporter that, kale and maize, and rape and maize, grown together, are taking the place of soil: turnips ami rape as feed for sheen, it. having been ascertained that the former crops resist the lavages of the blight.
