RAID IN HAINING STREET.

THREE ARRESTS MADE,

Accompanied by Constables M'Kclvcy iind Doyle, Sergeant Uut'cdgo last evening made a raid on premises at 20 Haining Street, suspected oC being used as n common gamins house, In one room a Chinese was found, and in another two Europeans. The three men wero arrested and taken to tlio Mount Cook Police Station, where, at nine o'clock in the evening, they were brought before Mr. 'I'. A. Lambert, J.P. The. Chinese, who gave his name as Wong Xoo, was charged with being the keeper of a common gaining house, and the- two Thomns Holt and James West James, with being found on premises used as a common gaming house. The three accused were remanded, bail being fixed in the case of Wong Xoo nt A'so, and for the others at .£5 each.
