ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RECREATION GROUND IN VIEW,
The Onslow Borough Council met last evening. There were present: The Mayor (Mr. F. Roldsworth), and Councillors' B. Lynnebcrg, J. C .Gardner, W. 11. Bowden, K. S. Stafford, G. W. Darvall, C. Apliu, jun., I{. W. Dingwall, and C. Jl'Arthur. The Town Clerk was instructed to sue for nil rale money which is outstanding after to-day. It was decided to join in with the Makai'a County Council and the Johnsonvilio Town Hoard in sisning a petition for a grant of government land at Johnponville for oemeterj- pur]rapes. The Onslow signature.- will bo impended on the understanding that all future, changes respecting the cemetery will be made on a valuation basis.
Two builders attended the meeting (by raiucst of the council) to explain why they had commenced building.s before permits had been issued. Their explanations were he.ird, and they were given to understand what the council required. The council considered the builders were not likely to repeat fho breach, and decided to issue the permits. The Reserves Committee wos instructed to go into the question of providing the borough with a recreation ground. Councillor Dingwall said that ho understood II acres of Mr. J. Nairn's property at Ngaio could bo got at .£.10(1 an acre."
