Rain has fallen over many parts of the South Island, and various districts in the North, and the rivers have risen on the West Coast of the South Islind. Tne Urometer has fallen slowly in the north, but Hsen slightly in the couth. Strong westerly winds have prevailed, and gales about Cook Strait.
