1 SUMMARY ANE> FORECAST Present indications arc for westerly winds, strong to gale, veering lo southerly everywhere ehortly. Colder, cloudy, ami unsettled weather, with rain, is probable generally, and thunderstorms in parts. The barometer will probably rise scan anil fast in tho south, with heavy seas on both coasta of tho South Island. Rain has fallen over many parts of the South Island, and various districts in the North, and the rivers have risen on the West Coast of the South Islind. Tne Urometer has fallen slowly in the north, but Hsen slightly in the couth. Strong westerly winds have prevailed, and gales about Cook Strait.
