P. AND T. PICNIC
Tho second annual picnic of the Post and Telegraph Department was held on Tuesday at Day's Bay. There was a largo gathering. Among thase. present wero: Messrs. L. Ledger (controller of the Savings Bank), D. Miller (Chief Postmaster), and E. B. Dall (Inspector of Post Offices). The following is a list of the races and the winners:— Potato race-F. C. Hubbard, 1; A. Robertson, 2. Thrca-1-the-needle race—Hiss Kenny and Air. L. C. Gorgie, 1. Tug-of-war—Post and Telegraph stores' team, 1. Sflytls. swimming handicap—J. Geddcs, 1; F. C. Hubbard, 2. Diving competition—D. Miller, 1; L. C. Forgie, 2. 100.vd?. flat handicap-A. Bold, 1; C. W. Robinson, 2. Relay race (BSoyds.)—Letter-carriers, ]. 100 yds. ladies handicap—Miss God'ell l;_Miss Policy, 2. "syds. ladies' handicap—Miss Grav, ]; Miss Knight, 2. Tennis-Ladies' singles: Miss Morgan, 1. Combined doubles: Miss Grav and C Clinkard, 1. Men's singles: T.'JI. Grace] 1. Mens doubles: 0. Hurton and I? Kelly,. ]. Girls' race (under 10 years)-Miss R Williams, lj Miss L. Hudson, 2. Boys' race—H. Andrews, 1; P. Wilson, ■> Inc trophies won during the day wore presented by Mr. G. B. Dall on the ferry boat.
