RIFLE SHOOTING.
_ ».- NGATIAWA CLUB. The first competition for Mr. Byron Brown's trophy was fired on tho Koikorangi range by tho Ngatiawa Rifle Club on Saturday last. Tho scores off tho riflo also counted for the championship belt. Tho conditions wore seven shots at 900 and 1000 yards. At times tho wind wns tricky, but taken on tho whole it was a fairly good day for shooting. Following aro tho scores:— B. Stubbincs 31 28 ec 59 F. H. Monk 31 28 ec 59 J. F. Monk 25 27 i 55 W. D. Bennett, 24-29-2—55; A. Monk. 28-20-7—55; J. Stnlibings, 30-21-sc— HI; 11. W. Bear, 19-30-2-51; G. A. Monk, 27—23—sc—50; Geo. Howe, 22-27 —sC—l9; A. Clifton, 26-SV-6C-35. With four more oompetitione to fire for tho championship belt, following aro the loading aggregates:— F. H. Monk, 278; G. A. Monk, 273; G. Stubbing, 2C9: R. Stubbings, 267; A. Clifton, 2GO; \V. D. Bennett, 2CO; G. Howe, 213; J. Monk, 212; A. Monk, 220. Next Saturday a practice match will bo fired over ranges 200, 500. and GOO, in view of tho inter-club match on the following Saturday lor tho Fresh Food and leo Company's cup.
