Iredale, in describing the Hill-M'Al-ister quarrel, states that M'Alister told Hill he was tho worst captain he had ever seen. JJill leaned across the table and struck M'Alister's face. Then the two fought "hammer and tongs," lasting twenty minutes. Both were game and determined. Iredalo and Smith tried to separate them, but were unable. London, February 0. Newspapers regret Hill's resignation. Tho "Sportsman" suggests that M'Alister could better have been scared.
