The small ence-; at Hawera will be' all against tho Auckland horse, who is used to strdight-up stout; fences, while thev will greatly favour "ii fast jumper like Euroco. The last-named will be ridden by 11. Futchcr. Silva, adonble winner at Marton, will be, the fop weight in tho Hack Hurdles. He has,.come on a great deal since the Christmas meetings, and his form in such a weak field should bo good. There are no fewer than twenty-four runners in the five-furlong Hack Race, and 16 in the "-seven-furlong event. In the Egmont-Cup the class is not by any means of a high order. On the Hawera course yesterday, Royal Arms, who is engaged in the Eginont Cup to-day, badly defeated Crown Pearl in a gallop.
