EMPIRE AND DOMINIONS.

PROFESSOR CALDECOTTS PROPOSAL CRITICISED. By TelesriDh-Presi AssDciatlon-CoDyrißhi London, February 5. Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. Sir James Newton Moore, Agent-General for Western Australia, speaking at the Birmingham jewellers' dinner, referring to Professor Caldecott's proposal, said that if England was inclined to listen to the recommendation she was not in a position to cede the territory of self-governing Dominions. It was impossible to conceive how Professor Caldecott's extraordinary proposition could bo adopted.
