The presidency of Hio liuhistrial Exhibition, to l>o held in Auckland next year, lias boon accepted by Mr. Bart Kent, who was president of the Auckland Industrial Exhibition of ISPS-!), and for many years president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. The first meeting of tho Provisional Exhibition Committee was hold to-doy, when flic chairman moved: "That the committee place on record its sense of appreciation of the consideration shown by (lie citizens af Christehurch in so graciously consenting to stand aside and allow the Auckland Exhibition to take precedence over the one proposed to lie held in Christcliurch, and it also gives its assurance of its cordial co-ojieriition unci assistance when lho time arrives for holding n similar exhibition in the Cathedral Cily." This was carried unanimously.
