YACHTING
SATURDAY'S RACING. The weather was porfecton Saturday afternoon, when the Port Nicholson Yacht Club decided races for both first and second class yachts. The events, which wero tho second races of tlio second scries, were well contested, tho finishes in both cases being close. One or two of the smaller craft were compelled to reef, but for tho larger boats tho breeze could not have been better. Tho races resulted as follow;— First Class. Muritai (tiOmin.) 1 Siren (20inin.) ' '2 Nancy Stair (:]Bniin.) II Alfo started: Ailsa, 18min.; Waitangi, scr. ,'l'wo minutes separated tho firit <ind second yachts, while 45 seconds only separated tho third ami fourth boats. Second Class. Aniai (Omin.) 1 Ilaweno (9min.) , 9 Lizzio (scr..i Tho Taipari (4inin.) was the only other starter. Owing to a mioio-ku in ing a mark buoy, the Amai will probably be disqualified.
