: * Bj TclsiriDh-Press ABsoctatlon-Cooyriclil (Eec. February i, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 3. The- by-election for East Edinburgh rendered necessary by the death of the late Sir J. P. Gibson resulted as follows:— "Mr. J. M. Hoggs (L.) 5,064 Mr. Jameson (U.) 4,139 At the election in January, 191(1, Sir J. V. Gibwn (Liberal) polled G7GO and Mr. P. J. Ford (Unionist) 4069.
