Messina lemons are in good supply, and values rule from 13s. to Ills, per half-case; UUfornian oranges have not all be^ 11 c ' cd, and tlio-market is bare, ihero will be no further supplies,until next season. Australian pears are in great demand, and supplies received during the past view days have been ([uitted at from 15s. to lte. per case. Tliero are no Island oranges available, and the first supplies to hand should rule at high rates. Watermelons from Sydney are in good demand. On Thursday they sold from Is. Gd. to<2s. (id. each. Grapes from New South Wales are selling at lis. to lis. per box, and South Australian 13s, to Its. Cook Island bananas sold at Gs. to 6s. Gd. per case. Local hot-house grapes are in good supply, and values range from 9(1. to Is. sd. per lb. Raspberries are selling at ss. to Gs. per bucket. Pcaches are very plentiful, ordinary samples quit from 2s. Gd. to 3s. Gd.; superior, 3s. 9d. to ss. Apricots make from -is. 6d. to Gs. per half-case. Apples are in good request. Sound cookers selling at 4s. to 4s. Gd.; choice red dessert, ss. Gil. to 7s. Gd. Local dessert pears bring from 4s. Gd. to ss. per half-case, and inferior sorts realise 2s. to 3s. 3d. t Plums are still in heavy supply. Ordinary Burbanks are selling at Is. Gd. to 25.; choice, 2s. Gd. to 3s. fid.; superior, 4s. to ss. Gd.; diamonds, 2s. Gd. to 35.; other sorts realised Is. to 2s. Greengages aro selling at 4s. to 5s per half-case, whilst Is. per lb. is obtainable for all local strawberries. Tomatoes are scarce, and dear. Local and Nelson lots are selling from 9s. Gd. to 12s. for choice; inferior, Bs, to !>s. The market is well supplied with cucumbers. Hot-house sorts are selling at 2d. to 3d. each, and others 3s. to 3s. 6d. per balfcase.
Vegetables.aro nil in good demand, and present quotations are as follow: Onions (Auckland), 7s. 6d. cwt.j local, Gs. cwt.; marrows, 3s. to 4s. per case; cauliflowers, Ss. to 10s. sack; cabbages, 2s. Gd. to 55.; potatoes, good sale, at 4s. to 4s. Gd. per cwt., , with every prospect of an early advance. Green peas, Gs. to 9s. per Ifhree-quarter sack; Frencl\ beans, 2d. to 2W. per lb.; parsnips, 4s. to ss. sack; carrots, 3s. to 55.; turnips, 35.; . swedes, 3s. 9d.; lettuce, 3s. to ss. case; broad beans, 2s. Gd. per sugar-bag; garlic, 7s. cwt.; horse-radish, 9d. per lb; fresh eggs, lid. to Is. dozen; fowls, 2s. 6d. to 3s. pair.
