The Rev. A. ,j, Seamer presided brer a largo attendance of members. The meeting was not open to the press. The annual report, which was adopted, showed that the league had made solid progress during last year, and that matters were well in hand for tho ensuing year. The list of ' subscribers had been very largely increased. It was decided to alter tho constitution so as to allow an elected representative from every temperance society in the district to have a seat on the executive. Officers were elected as follow President, ltev. H. Cottom; vice-presidents, Itovs. F. B, 11, Ginger, M'Caw, and Sykes, Adjutant Wellington, Messrs. Wood, Janscn, Waugh, Skinner, J. W. M'Ewan, Hegpe, Alexander, and Mrs. Falder, a.nd a number of others, subject to their consent; secretary, Mr. W. J. Wakelin, with Mr. G. Blnkeley, assistant-,secretary; .treasurer, Mr. J. M'Dougull; convenors of committee, Mr. A. Weight and. Mrs. FaJder; executive, Mesdiunes Jnnson, Corner, Miller, Miss Knight, Messrs. Baipent, Lockwood, Ayson, and Delahunty. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, with special reference to Mr. Scamcr, who was president, and who is shortly leaving the district.
