Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report:—Wo held a vory successful tale of cheep at the Shannon sale yards on Tuet-day, on account of Mr. W. J. Smith, of Linton. The sheep , were . all bred on "The iieishts," Shannon, and sold under keen competition al following prices:—Cull lambs, 5e.; aged ranis, ?6. 3d.; mixed lambs, Ss. 4d. to- Bs. 7t1.; four and five-year owes, 12s. to 12s. Sd.; 2-looth ev,-23, 13s. 10d.; small 2-tooth wethers, ICs. 6d.; 4-tooth wethers, 13s. lid.; 6-tooth ewee, 14s. 7d.; 4-tooth ewes, 16s. 2d.

There was a. larger yarding of bloro sheep than 'usual, including all classes of wethers, ewes, and iambs. The. demand for stores was fairly good, beiuf," bettor than at last sale, lambs especially being ia good demand, at a slight advance in prices. There, was no change in wethers'prices, but there was keen attention tisid to &wes, sorts which realised prices fully up to last week, notwithstanding tho fad, that the bulk of tho entry was only of medium qualiij-. The supply of owes was not up to the demand.
The prices were:—Very forward lambs, 12s. 3d. to 12s. Sel.; extra, 13s. to Us. 6d.; average, 11s. 6d. to 125.; medium to fair, Ks. 6d. to 11s. 3d.; culls, ss. fc!.; 4 and 6-tooth wethers made 14s. 9d. to 15s. ICd.; 4-tooth, 13s. to 145.; 2-tootli, 12s. to 145.; and culia and inferior sorts, 10s. 2d. to 11s. 3d.; 4 and 6-tootli ewes made 14s. 9d. to 18s.; 2 and 4-tooth (sood), 14s. to lEu.; 4, 6, and 3tooth (|*ood), lbs. to 17s. 3d.; ?.-tooth, l'-s. 6d. to 18s. Jd.; good sound-moiitli owes, 12s. to los.; fair-uiouthed, low-conditioned sorls, 95.; and aged linos. Ts. 9d- to 9s. The entry of lat lambo was a large one, totalling over 4CC-0, as against 2&c3 last week, 'flie general quality of lambs was botlor also, and though prices show on increase, the actual values remain about the came. There was a Rood demand, and very few .lots were pasotii. must .hading owners at satisfactory figuren. all classes of buyers operatin. , ; freely, and price ranged from 13s. to lfe., risins to 18?. 9d. for extra eood ■well-grown lambs. A good long spell of dry weather would result in raped filling of lamb pens, as feed is at pre;;ut too wet, and consequently hiis not the usual fattening properticii. ■

There was fair competition at the htart of the sale, but the. demand cased later, and prices concluded soaker than at previous sale for ewes, wethers remaining stonily.
