' . Nelson, January 31. Patrick J. Boss, who was tud over by ft trap at Motueka, has died of pneumonia, caused by tho accident. At tho inquest a verdict of accidental death was reamed.
BAD TIME FOR SHEEP FARMERS. Christchurch, January 31. Sheep farmers in tho bnck country of the Amuri appear to have passed through a very severe winter last year, and tho shearing tallies, which are not yet quite completed, bear this out. On two of the stations in the country mentioned it is estimated that each has lost about 15,000 sheep, and the lambing average is down to about 40 per cent.
