—, —« _ SUMMARY AND FORECASTConditions arc still threatening to the north-eastward of tho Dominion, and present indications arc for strons southeasterly winds and unsettled weather northward ol Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and variable winds, with fair to cloudy weather, elsewhere. Tho barometer has a riciiic tendency about Cook Strait. Warm, hazy, and unsettled weather has prevailed northward of Kawhia, and Castlepoint, and showery conditions were also reported this morninfc on the East Coast of the South Island and about Fovcaux Strait, but fair weather has prevailed elsewhere. (From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanßanui, January 31.—A beautiful day. Feilding, January 31.—Perfect summer weather all day; calm, cool night. Palmorston, January 31.—Fine, but strong easterly wind at times. Hastings, January 31.—The weather today has been cool and line. Otaki, January 31.—Sunshine. Fcathcrston, January 31.—Sky cloudy; southerly wind. Greytown, January 31.—The weather has changed a little, and threatens rain. The atmosphere ie much cooler.
