Guayaquil, January 30. Five revolutionary .generals, including General Alfarc, arrived nl Quito on Sunday. They wcro immediately imprisoned.
When tho populace learned of Hi© arrivnl of tho generals, a mob of fivo thousand attacked tho guards, who fired a volley, killing several.
Tho mob torn down a. portion of tho walls of the gaol nnd dragged tho generals from tho cells nnd killed them with other prisoners supporting the revolutionaries.
Tho bodies wore drugged through the streets to t.ho Pan Diego Cemetery, where they were burnt.
Thn fury of the popnlaco was duo to tho tremendous losses of both nrmiea at. the battle of Taguach on January 16.
