DATRY FACTORY CLASSES.

Class lis for ono box of export butter (SCib.) suitable for export; Claw i, 1 l>ox of export butter, optu to any factory or factory manager not having' won a prize valued at m; Class :l, I box of export butler, open to any factory manager who lias not previously won a prize at the National Dairy show; Class -1, 1 box of export butter, open to members of the N.Z.D.F.M. Association only; Class 5, best box of export factory butter (561)).); Class IJ, championship of New Zealand—the championship to bi> decided on the following basis: Ail factories competing lor tho chainpionsliip must liave also made an entry in Classes 1 and G, and delivered one box of export factory butter, sG'b., to the cool stores during February, tho box to be branded with registered number of factory, and number of this class (six), and addressed to the National Dairv Show, and held in cold storage until •Tune following, or such time as it may be required for judging purposes for the show, when the computation of the grade point? of this, together with that of Chus I, be the champion class. The highest average to count first, and so on in order of merit. The computation of the average will be under the direction of tlm JOairy Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture, whoso decision .shall-be final.
A gold medal is offered for competition to South Island dairy factories entered in any of the batter classes, excepting Class -1, and scoring tlio highest number of points in any one das'.
Class 7 is for the best three cases of full cream New Zealand cheddar-shaped cheese, suitable for export (coloured); Class 8 for the best 3 cases of full cream Xew Zealand cheddar-shaped cheese suitable for export (white); Class 9 is the championship of New Zealand, under auspices of New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' Association, to be competed for by exhibitors entered in Classes 7, 8. and 11.
'Die championship to bo decided on the following basis-.—All factories competing for the championship must hare made an entry in Classes 7, 8, and 11. The championship will be awarded on the highest aggregate average scored in the grading points for these classes.
Class 10 is for the best case of cheese irrespective of colour or shape, open only to members of the N.Z.D.F.M. Association. Class 11, best 2 factory cheese, fully matured, any colour; Class 12, best 2 medium-sized factory cheese, any colour, open to factories whose output for tlie season does not exceed 60 tons. Class 13 for 2 best loaf cheese.
A gold medal is offered for competition to South Island dairy factories entered iu any of the cheese classes, excepting Class 10, and scoring the highest number of points in any one class. Class U is the National Dairy Association Show judging competition in cheese and butter. A, challenge- cup valued at twenty-five guineas, presented by Messrs. Weddel and Co., London, will be awarded to the factory scoring the highest points in Class 1, and- to becomo the property of file factory winning the cup two years in succession or three years at intervals, and a. challenge cup, valued at twentyfive guinea*, presented liv the Shaw, Pavill and Albion Co.. will be awarded to the factory scoring the highest points in Class f>, and to become the property of the factory winning the cup two years in succession or three years at intervals. A. further challenge cun is one. valued at 20 enincps, presented by the New Zealand Shipping Company, which cup will bo Rjvard'nl to tiie factory scoring the highest points in either coloured or white cheese entered in Classes 7 or S, and become the property of the factory winning the cup two years in succession or three years at intervals. A gold medal will be awarded to the maker. Entries close on March Iβ.
