FERRY AGREEMENT.

The full provisions of tho agreement are as follow:-Wa-vs.—.Minimum rate of wages lor firemen ami deckhands:—Firemen, £3 per week; first and second deckhand, where three or nvoro men are employed. JE2 10s.; Hours and Overtime.—The hour? shall not be more than ten per day (exclusive of meal hours) to be worked on any six days of each week. Overtime to In- paid at' the rate of Is. 3d. per hour for nil time worked ovci ten hours between 7 a.m. lo 10 p.m., overtime between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. to be 2s. per hour. Per (he purposes of this provision, work performed by the relieving shift shall not be classed as overtime. jhmls.—Eueli worker shall bo allowed two intervals, not exceeding one hour each between S a.m. and 10 a.m., and noon and 2 p.m. for meals, and no worker shall bo required to work more than six hours without an opportunity for a meal. When a steamer is runnin;* continuously as in holiday time, men me to be. allowed a sufficient lime to take a iiwnl on board, such time to be (vmiited in tho working hours. Coal 'J'rrmmiiK.—When a steamer is lx'ini bunkered, ami it is necessary to trim coal in the bunkers, it is agreed tiiat such Irimmiiif! shall be paid for at M'liarf Lalxiiirers' Union rales. Notice.—Twenty-four horn's' notice on either side shall be dremed to be sufficient notice to conclude an agreement. This agreement shall operate from February 1. 1012. and shall continue in foree until January 31, 1913. The new conditions- are estimated to cost the company .ESOO per annum. It is understood that the position will be considered by the directors at the next meeting.
