The sub-committee of mino-owners and miners sat for three days in London, endeavouring to find a basis of settlement on the minimum wage question. It is understood that o. settlement was agreed upon, subject to the confirmation of the principals. RAILWAY CAEEIEES. London, January 2G. The Great Northern Railway Company's carters aro willing to resume .provided their comrades' case is submitted to arbitration. CABMEN RESUME. (Rec. January 28, 5.5 p.m.) London, January 27. Twenty-seven of the Great Northern Eailway carmen have resumed. NAVVIES' STRIKE COLLAPSES. Perth, January 27. As a result'of-the engineers' strike two hundred casual hands in the railway workshops have b<<en paid off. The railway navvies' strike collapsed. BRISBANE TRAM STRIKE. Brisbane, January 27. A serious extension of the tram strike is predicted as the result of Sunday's conference.
