The University Senate on Saturday granted a medical travelling scholarship to Thaddeus Julian. The scholarship was granted in terms of the recommendation of the Professorial Board.

Mr. C- H. Simson has been appointed engineer of the South Otago Freezing Works. For some timo past he has held a re=ponsible. position with Tnrnbull, Jones and Co., electrical engineers, and was recently iu charge of certain works being erected by that firm in Nelson province.
Mr. Hector Bruce Mackenzie, odc of tho Hon. Thos. Mackenzie's sous, will leave New Zealand next month to commence medical studies in Edinburgh. He recently passed his preliminary medical examination.
Dr. Poinare, M.1 , ., of the Lower Hutt, leaves for Taraunki I his morning.
