" Dr. P. Carnegie Simpson's successor has boon happily settled at Rcntield 4 •Street - -U.P. Church, Glasgow. lie is Rev. John Eraser, of Kilmuir Easter, Ross-shire, and is recognised as a very able .voung evangelistic preacher. The church to which he lias gone has an interesting history, anil its pulpit is a distinguished one. Tlie congregation wai founded in ISI9, and was an off-shoot from the Associated Burgher congregation in East Campbell Street under Dr. 'Michael.Willis, a well-known name of that day. It has had seven pastors, among whom was tlie lalo Dr. Marcus Dods. Glasgow Presbytery has approved the proposed pension scheme for ministers. Dr. Maemillan reminded the Presbytery that .C 10.00!) had been received from Lord Mount Stephen, whicli brought ill over ifiTOO a year and time should not Iw wasted, as rich men might die. Kinross Presbytery, while approving generally of tlie scheme, suggests that ministers' liaymonts should be in proportion to their i stipends—say ,£1 for each .£IOO. Dunoon, Greenock-, Dumbarton, and Stirling l'renbytcries have * also approved of th« I scheme.
